Sedentary behavior and anxiety - how are they related?

According to a new study those who love to keep their butt down and relax are prone to the risk of anxiety.
 
What we term as a sedentary behavior is to sit and watch TV, work in the computer for long hours or play games in your gadgets. Most of the studies say such behaviors are closely associated with troubles such as obesity, heart disease, osteoporosis and type-2 diabetes.
 
Though there are several studies that assess the effects of sedentary lifestyle and health ailments, this new study is the first of its kind in performing a systematic review o examine how anxiety and sedentary behavior are related.
 
Nearly 27 million people across the world are affected by anxiety which is a mental health illness. This can even result in physical symptoms including pounding heartbeat, tense muscles, breathing troubles, headache, among others.
 
Speaking about this, the lead researcher Megan Teychenne at Deakin University says sedentary behavior and depressive symptoms found to have got a positive association, according to earlier researches. However, they performed another study to assess the association of sedentary behavior and anxiety.
 
The study resulted in the increase in anxiety level with the increase in sedentary behavior.
