However, this applies only for a MODERATE intake - 3 or 4 cups a day - without milk or sugar. Too much coffee leads to irregular heart beats called tachyarrhythmia.
The TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute in Utrechseweg in Holland has said that three quarters of a pint of beer may be food for your heart. High levels of Vitamin B6 that are present in beer can prevent the build up of homocysteine, which is an amino acid that causes heart disease. But this is not a recommended prescription as the calories in beer may cause weight gain and, therefore, have other repercussions.
Nuts are high in unsaturated fat and can lower LDL cholesterol. they also help decrease inflammation of the arteries. Make sure that the nuts are a substitute for other foods and not a supplement. They have high calories content and will contribute to weight gain.
