Third vaccination camp by TN government

The third vaccination camp by the government of Tamil Nadu for babies and pregnant women will take place on 21st of July 2015, Tuesday. On behalf of the government, the Indradhanush scheme is taking place in eight districts of Tamil Nadu including Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Trichy, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thirunelveli, and Coimbature.

In these camps, vaccination for babies aged less than 2 years, and left out vaccination for pregnant women will be given. Vaccination and preventive medicines for TB, jaundice, Globus pharyngis, whooping cough, delirium, pneumonia, measles and Japanese encephalitis. After four months of beginning this scheme, about 1.66 lakh beneficiaries were a part of it.

Following this, seven more districts were added to this scheme during May this year. This includes Chennai, Salem, Tripur, Erode, Tuticorin, Dhindugal, and Tanjore where the camp is on the go. The camp is also conducted at mountainous regions including Karur, Dharmapuri, Kodaikanal, Kallakurichi, and Yercaud. Speaking about this, the public health officials say over 14,151 camps have so far been conducted including direct and indirect ones. 8 districts on behalf of central government and 7 on behalf of the state government which on the whole counts to 15 districts have seen the camp taking place. Field studies are taking place in the rest of the districts and the left out children are identified from these places. Later on, special camps will be set up in these places as well.
