Pure honey, When dropped on a paper or water, it will go down to the bottom like a string without dissolving in the water.

Dogs won’t smell it. Ants won’t come near pure honey. There are 2 types of honey - heated & unheated. In order to get rid of the flowery smell in the honey, they keep a hot iron rod in the honey. This is known as the heated honey. This is about more watery. This has to be used within 2 years.

Unheated honey is thick & yellowish. It can be kept for any number of years. A little honey mixed in hot/warm water will not help impart all the medicinal qualities of honey. Elders can take honey without any apprehensions.

If diabetics take pure honey, the sugar level in the blood will not rise. However, honey is not good food item to be given to children.

Children above the age of children can be given honey. However, when rural natural medicines are given to the children, they may be mixed in honey and then given.

Whatever be the age, do not take more than 1 table-spoon of honey in a day.

Remember, you have to always lick the honey and take it! Do not drink or swallow! If the windpipe gets blocked at this effort, it may even be life-harming!

Again, remember if honey & ghee are mixed in equal amount, it is as good (bad) as poison!

There may be occasions while taking medicine you have to include honey & ghee – in that event, take care to include 1 part ghee for 4 parts of honey (Ghee: honey = 1:4)!
