According to a new research, it`s found that teenagers are prone to disturbed sleep, anxiety and depression as they keep in touch with friends online.
Fear of missing out on social media termed as FOMO means that the teenagers experience immense pressure as they are specific about remaining connected with their friends as long as possible.
Nearly 90 percent of adolescents have got a social media presence. Those who use gadgets often are prone to the risk of developing these emotional problems, states the study.
As teenagers are at the risk of developing long term issues, in general, this anxiety may result in trouble in their adulthood. Dr Heather Cleland Woods, from Glasgow University said it is the phase of adolescence that has increased vulnerability which will trigger anxiety and depression. This will be fueled by sleep deprivation and anxiety.
