A recent study has claimed that adults who drink alcohol are 24% less likely to get a heart attack than those who don`t. However, those drinkers are more prone to getting cancer.
Researchers studied 114,970 men and women from 12 countries around the world. These included Sweden, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, India and Turkey. The people were tracked over a period of 3 years. Results showed that those who drank were 24% less likely to suffer from a heart attack. But, they were 51% more likely to develop cancers, that included those of the breast, ovary, liver and stomach.
