How to control anger?

The oft-repeated advice to angry kids is - Count up to 10.

This is equally valid for the elders as well.

When a person is really seething with anger, all he/she has to do is - close the eyes -Take a deep breath – count slowly up to 10. This sudden slow-down will certainly reduce the extent of anger. Or else, move away from that particular place - this is another advisable action.

Generally, it has been established that anger is the outlet other mental turbulences playing. Is the person really angry about the thing/incident which angered? Or else, feelings like resentment, stress, insecurity, hurt feelings, or fear might have caused the anger.

If we are able to find the root of anger, we can solve it.

When you are under the clutches of red-hot anger, it is quite normal to talk whatever comes to the mind/mouth and repent about it later.

Spend a few quiet seconds when angry, focus the mind, think deeply and then decide what to talk/tell. This will certainly ease the situation and pave the way for smoother solving of whatever problem.

Facing anger is certainly a sort of challenge. When the anger subsides, it is better to explain what & why caused the anger.

It is not wise to keep thinking on why/what/who caused the anger repeatedly and get the mind to a boiling point. Find the aspect/factor which caused anger and find an immediate solution.

Anger will never solve any issue. It will only build up the tension further. Better keep this in mind all the time.
