A healthy mouth is a vital requirement for good health especially as this is the opening through which we take our inputs.
Only when the mouth is maintained clean and healthy, we can prevent germs & bacteria entering our bodies. This is why we wash our teeth twice in a day.
Even then, it is rather difficult to remove the stains on our teeth.
Most of us go to the dentist to remove the teeth stains. However, there is the possibility of teeth losing their enamels while getting them cleaned in a dental hospital while the teeth may become sensitive.
Here are few tips to get rid of teeth stains in a natural way:
Oil Pulling -After getting up in the morning, keep a tablespoon of coconut oil in the mouth and gargle with it for 15 to 20 minutes and then spit it out. Wash the teeth. By making this as a daily routine in the mornings, apart from getting the teeth stains removed, it will also help strengthen the gums.
Baking soda - Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of salt and wet it with some water. Use this to clean teeth. If this routine is practiced twice a week, the sodium-bicarbonate contained in the baking soda will remove the teeth stains quite easily. However, please remember to keep this routine twice in a month.
Guava fruit - The leaves of guava and guava fruit are both capable of removing teeth stains. So, take 1 guava daily. Otherwise, chew a few guava leaves for some time and then spit them out.
Aloe Vera - Apply aloe vera gel on the teeth and keep for 10 minutes. Wash the teeth after that in cold water. Doing this twice a day is a sure remedy to remove teeth stain.
Clove - Mix 1 teaspoon of clove powder in a little olive oil and apply on the teeth and keep for a few minutes. Then, wash with warm water. Doing this twice a day will help remove teeth stains.
Vinegar - Mix 2 teaspoons of vinegar with 1 teaspoon of slat in half-a-cup of warm water. Use this mixture to gargle daily twice a day. With this routine, the acetic acid contained in vinegar will help remove teeth stain.
Orange rind - Rub the inside of orange fruit rind on the teeth and gums before going to sleep in the night. Keep this through the night and wash the mouth the next day morning. This will help remove the teeth stains and also the germs and bacteria in the teeth.
Rosemary Oil - Mix 2-3 drops of rosemary oil with 2 tablespoons of water. Keep this in the mouth and gargle for 10 minutes and then spit it out. After this, wash the teeth as usual. Doing this twice a day will remove teeth stains, bad smell in the mouth (halitosis), and tooth decay.
Cheese - By regularly taking cheese, the alkaline content in the saliva will increase and this will help remove/prevent teeth stains. Cheese creates a protection screen over the teeth and prevents stain formation. So, get into the habit of eating a small quantity of cheese after your meals.
Apple - Eating an apple an hour after meals can help clean teeth and healthy gums. It will definitely prevent formation of stain on teeth.
Spicy food items – Taking spipicy food items sensitizes the saliva glands and increase the quantum of saliva. The increased production of saliva can enable resist against formation of teeth stain and their decay apart from keeping the teeth and gums clean.
Fig – Fig fruit strengthens the teeth. It sensitizes saliva glands to produce more saliva. So, while eating fig, chew them thoroughly before swallowing.
Neem stick – Get into the habit of washing teeth with neem sticks. The anti-bacterial and medicinal properties of the neem will not only improve teeth health but also make for sparkling teeth without any stains.
Processed food items – Reduce the intake of processed food items. This is because processed food items usually contain more starch & sugar. As these 2 ingredients are preferred food for the bacteria in the mouth, just avoiding eating processed food will help prevent many mouth-related problems.
Consult the dentist – Though you maintain mouth meticulously well, it is always recommended to consult the dentist at least once a year. Testing the teeth & gums once a year will help improve their healthy condition.
