Planning to reduce weight? You will have to get clarity on foods that are high in saturated fat content like lard, butter, etc, as these foods have direct impact on your brain that aids you in controlling hunger, according to a new study.

The fat content impedes your brain in controlling food intake. To put it in simple words, people will have trouble in controlling what they eat, when to precisely stop and the kind of food to eat.

A study was made on rats which clearly indicated that meals with high levels of saturated fat can bring down the cognitive function which will make it resistive for one to control eating habits.

Hypothalamus, a part of brain gets affected on consuming fatty food. It is this part that helps in regulating hunger. In these days, high importance needs to be given for an individual’s food intake so that one can enjoy good health.

Though there are many researches done on high fat diet on metabolism, its effect on brain is studied very little, says Maria Pina Mollica and Marianna Crispino, University of Naples.

Fried food, butter, lard, etc contain saturated fats whereas fish, avocado, olive oil, etc contain unsaturated fat. There is significant difference in consuming fish oil as compared to butter.
