Sun pharma to produce diabetes drug for the US

Sun pharmaceutical industries ltd has stated in its recent report that it will launch a common version of Glumetza, Metformin Hydrochloride tablets for diabetes very soon in the US.
In its recent statement, the company has stated that one of sun pharma’s subsidiaries has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for producing Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for releasing tablets of 500 mg and 1000 mg. The statement added that these tablets are equivalent to Santarus Inc’s Glumetza tablets. This is likely to have an annual sales of the range $1.2 billion in US.
