As per a new study, it is found that exercising does not have the same effect in either genders, and that it only helps men in losing weight. The study involved analyzing the difference in exercising between genders using trials on mice.
Colorado University researchers state that the brains of either sexes are hard-wired in different manners and they trigger unique reactions in men and women.
While exercise is always known to help prevent weight gain, it was proved true only with male mice in the experiment.
These findings which are totally contrasting to the medical knowledge will give rise the gender-specific workout routines in order to shed pounds.
Rebecca Foright said believing to have the same kind of response in men and women for exercises is unacceptable.
In the experiment, both male and female rats were given fat rich diet after which they were trained to work out on the treadmill. On observing for about 10 weeks, it was found that male rates that kept exercising consumed lesser food and saw lesser weight gain as compared to the female counterparts.
The female counterparts did not show any reduction in consumption and they continued gaining weight in the same way as their inactive counterparts.
