The recent study submitted in the ENDO 2018, Chicago for the 100th Annual Meeting of Endocrine Society clearly states the positive impact of three meals per day diet on the Over-weight and Diabetic patients. The three meal per day diet considerably decreased the symptoms of sluggishness in Obese People and also reduced the overall sugar level in the blood of the Type-2 Diabetic Patients.

For the past three decades People with Weight issues and Diabetes were asked to split their meals into six small meals and two mini snacks. Most of the diet prescriptions from the Nutritionist will insist in this type of conventional dieting system for the better improvement of the health.

Now the recent study proved this conventional diet is no more a solution for the diabetes and Obese issues prevailing largely among the public in recent years. The study was based on two groups, Group A for conventional six meal diet and the other Group B with three meal plan with rich breakfast. Group B showed many positive response leading to weight loss, less sugar levels and improved digestion than the conventional Group A.

The main reason for Group A’s improved health condition is that their bodies are not subjected to constant insulin boost for the transformation of food into glucose. Carbohydrates and Sweet cravings also dramatically reduced for the Group B.

Daniela Jakubowicz of the Tel Aviv University conducted this research and tests with the two groups, informed the possibility of the body easily adapting the three meals per day formulae than the conventional six meal diet formulae. The three meal diet sees the body on its natural state, digesting the food properly during the morning times and then slowly reducing the food intake will ease out the insulin rise, leading to the decrease in the sugar level. The experimentation was done for abut fourteen days and the results showed a decrease of 54 mg/dl in the Three meal group and only 23mg/dl in the six meal group. The considerable loss of weight was found in group b but most of the Group A members retained the same weight.

Having high energy foods in the morning time will enable the body to digest the food throughout the day. When high fat and heavy diet are consumed in nights the body will have to spike more insulin as per the circadian rhythm, there will be less heat in the body in night times. So the gradual decrease in the food levels from morning till evening dividing it into three meals with one snack may be depending on the need of the individual is mostly enough for maintaining the normal insulin levels the body needs. This leads to proper weight management and blood glucose levels.

Overall glycemic rate has also been found reduced in the Group B category. Human beings earlier intervention with the diet was thoroughly based on availability and hunting. So there was a considerable time interval between the each meal they consumed. This fasting state helped to maintain their glucose and fat level in the blood on a normal value. The changing lifestyles and wrong prescription due to the poor medical examinations of food leads to some of the major illness. Adapting the food intake in accordance with the hunger call, usually only three times per day maximum, will regain the lost health and normality levels of the body.
