It is worthwhile getting aware of the kinds of fruits that can be given to the children especially during summer in order to protect them from infectious diseases.
The health of children gets more affected during the summer season both on the physical and body/organ fronts. So, it is advisable to watch the health of the children with extra care. There are some fruits which will protect them from infectious diseases:
· Pomegranate has the property to increase the red corpuscles in the blood. Pomegranates are especially good for the healthy condition of the heart and the resistance to illnesses/
· It is always better to give the watermelon fruit in the form of cut pieces rather than as a juice to the children during the summer season. This would greatly help to retain sufficient water content in the body.
· As the body heat gets more intense during summer, the children are likely to be affected with diarrhea Sapodilla fruits – known popularly as ‘sappota’ in Tamil and ‘chikkoo’ in Hindi in India has the property to prevent this complaint. This fruit also helps the blood circulation uniform.
· Children would not prefer to eat gooseberries if given as they are. So, after cleaning, add a pinch of turmeric and salt and boil the gooseberries in a little water and then give the children. This will increase the body resistance to diseases.
