Home Remedies to cure Cold and Cough

Sudden Change in weather diverts Human Body’s capacity to adapt the environment and support the entire system to be active and work in full function. With these abilities comes some of the negative symptoms that will disturb the day-to-day life.

Random Weather Changes being a very usual scenario nowadays we can help our Children to adapt to the surroundings by following few home based remedies. Actually through these symptoms the body is trying to deal with the changing external factors. So these kind of symptoms like Cold, Mild Fever and Cough are mostly helpful to eradicate wastes from the body.

The apt thing to do is not to give any form of medications to the children in these circumstances and allow the free flow of nature altering the body’s healthy mechanism. But to reduce the irritation and disturbances occurring in the Children’s body we can follow the below mentioned simple remedies.

1. Honey and Warm Water

Honey in its purest organic form is a rare thing to get nowadays. If one can have enough sources to buy pure organic honey, it can be very effective for all kinds of viral and bacterial infections. Add a spoonful of honey into the glass of warm water and make your kid to drink that three times a day.  Consuming it directly can also help sometimes but add some cinnamon powder if your baby is below 5 years old.

2. Steam

Cold can produce breathing trouble in Children and Adults as well. During these times try to give a steam breathing to your little ones. This can be done by boiling the water and then adding few eucalyptus oil, then followed by covering the head and face of your children to take the raw steam coming out of the water bowl.  Doing this for 10 to 15 minutes can soothe your child’s respiratory tracts making it easy for breathing and a quick relief from cold.

3. Tulsi Leaves

Add Tulsi leaves to the boiling water and then allow it in the room temperature for ten minutes.  Then make your little one to sip the drink slowly until the glassful of tulsi water is over. Chest Congestion, Excess Mucus and nose irritation will be quickly sorted out and eased by this tulsi leaves drink.

4. Massage

For Children below two years of age Massaging can do wonders in the times of Cold and Cough. The stretching of the muscles will make the children’s blood to circulate evenly causing quick relief from the negative symptoms like Cough, Sneezing, Body pain etc.

5. Turmeric Powder

Turmeric is the best medicine when it comes to the point of confirmation that the Children are affected by some sort of infection. It is a perfect anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory natural medicine that can cure all forms of flu like symptoms. Add a spoonful of turmeric powder in a glass of warm milk and feed it to your little ones. You can see some instant relief in their bodies in terms of cough and cold.

6. Hydration

Dehydration is the main cause of many illness related to cough and cold. So hydrate your Children regularly with water and fresh fruits. Teach them to take the nature’s sensation of thirst as an important signal to drink lots of water. Enough water and rest alone can prevent themem from many infections and also from catching colds.

7. Salt Gargling

Take a glass of lukewarm water and add a pinch of rock salt into it. Make your children to gargle it and spit the water repeating it for at least 10 to 20 times. This can cure the throat infection immediately and can allow the children to sleep peacefully at nights.
