How many of us know about these foods / drinks having caffeine in them?

Every day after getting up majority of us has got the habit of drinking cup of coffee or tea isn’t it!! Tea or coffee has got superb aroma and flavour and most of us love these beverages for this particular reason. Caffeine is present in coffee or tea and we consume this caffeine whenever we drink coffee or tea.  It is worthy to mention here that caffeine is a psychoactive drug that is widely consumed all over the world. There are both advantages as well as side effects of consuming caffeine. It is revealed that a normal person consumes 300mg of caffeine every day. Usually we are of the opinion that only coffee or tea has got this caffeine. There are also other foods that have caffeine content in them.

Other foods having caffeine in them are

Present in chocolates:

We all love eating chocolates. Most of us might not know that chocolates have caffeine in them. It must be taken into account that cocoa beans have caffeine in them naturally and processed chocolate has also got some amounts of cocaine in them. Those chocolates that are dark in colour have got high caffeine amounts in them.

Present in matcha:

Obtained from green tea leaves, matcha has got high amounts of caffeine. Intake of matcha could refresh us greatly. There are also many health benefits of consuming matcha .Heart diseases could be avoided. Type-2 diabetes and cancer could be prevented, aids in weight loss etc.

Present in pain relieving tablets etc:

Many of us take tablets for headaches etc to get speedy relief from the pain. These tablets also contain caffeine in them.

Present in cereals:

Cereals are considered as hassle free in the morning for breakfast. These chocolate flavoured cereals have caffeine content in them. So next time when you consume these cereals you must know that you are also consuming small amounts of caffeine also along with it.

Present in protein bar:

We feel energy rush after we consume protein bar. This energy rush not only comes from the fibre content in protein bar but also from the caffeine content present in the protein bar. It is said that every 100gms of protein bar has got up to 50mg of caffeine.

Present in ice tea:

Ice tea is made by adding ice, sugar and lemon to freshly brewed black tea. It is surprising fact that ice tea has got caffeine in it. The caffeine content in ice tea depends on the factors like type of teas used, amount of water and ice added etc.

Present in carbonated drinks:

Most of us think that only cola drinks have caffeine content in them but it is not true. Carbonated drinks or orange fizzy drinks also have some quantities caffeine in them.

Present in breath freshener or mint:

Many of us have the habit of chewing breath freshener or mint in our mouth without knowing that it has got caffeine in it. It is revealed that candies and some mint chocolates have got caffeine in them.
