Nutrition tips for children preparing for board exams

It is serious time now and there is no space for fun – these statements are often heard in households as it is exam season. During times between February and March, students are always kept busy, and their exams keep them stressed too. Parents, you are not just responsible in making them study, but give them good nutrition to do so. Here we have some tips as to how to give nutritive foods to them. You need to give them comfort food than to give them nutritive and energizing foods. Also keep in mind that the students tend to get overindulged in food and may probably get fatter and opt for sugary meals. This is not okay!

Food plays a vital role in the way in which your child shows focus towards studies and concentrates. So, it is important to give them nutritive foods by investing enough time in preparation.

No Junk please

The harder the food is, the more time it takes for digestion. Such foods in fact diver the blood flow from brain towards digestion. So stick to comfort foods that are easily digestible. Brain requires enough blood as it contains the needed oxygen which in turn is the requisite for efficient functioning. This is why a lot of students tend to remember and memorize a lot easily when they study in the early hours of the day as the blood doesn’t get distracted for other processes in the human body.

Need for protein

When you take more of protein rich foods, the students tend to remember what they learn and be better at recalling the same. Hence, include a lot of eggs and dal and fish varieties and chicken in their daily consumption.

Caffeine intake

Always have your child least dependent on caffeine. The underlying problem is that most parents do not know the permissible level of caffeine intake for children. Well, that is also the case with adults. There is no proper standard quantity threshold for it. Also the level differs from one person to the other. It is necessary for parents to know that excessive levels of caffeine may lead to palpitations or loose motion or even other types of health hazards like respiratory problems or distress or vomiting. With overdose of caffeine the student might not even be able to focus and concentrate on their studies. Caffeine products include any form of energy drink, coffee, tea, caffeine tablets and so on .

Water

Hydrating your body is very crucial. This keeps your tiredness at bay and always ensures proper body activity. So give your child at least about 2 litre of water every single day. Keep a water bottle filled with fresh boiled water by the side of their study table as this may remind them of drinking water every now and then. 

Sleep

Of course this is not a topic of nutrition. But your brain can function well if and only if your body gets enough sleep. As you get Google amount of sleep you will have everything right. During sleep, the brain will organise it`s memories including short term and long term ones. Never let gadgets into your space especially at night as it is the very first culprit in dipping your sleep.
