Being affordable and filling, rice is preferred by many of us. Point is rice is the staple food in many countries. It is superb to mention that we could consume any dish from curry to lentils with rice.

It is known that rice is the seed of grass species oryza sativa or oryza glaberrima. There are many who do not want to consume high calories and are on low carbohydrate diet. For these persons, rice could be substituted by other alternatives.

These alternatives for rice are tremendous for our health.

Riced broccoli:

Being rich source of many nutrients, riced broccoli would be fantastic for our health and it could be used as an alternative to rice. The presence of vitamins in broccoli helps us to fight free radical damage. The point is broccoli could be chopped and then put inside a food processor so that rice like texture is got.

Shirataki rice:

In Asia is present konjac root and from this root shirataki rice is made. The primary fibre that is present in this root is glucomannan. It must be taken into account that to get good amounts of this glucomannan a person has to consume lots of shirataki rice.

Riced cauliflower:

It is important to note that those who need low carbohydrate rice option then they must consume riced cauliflower. Important point is it could be consumed with anything because the flavour is mild and it has similar texture to rice when it is cooked. Riced cauliflower does not have that many carbohydrates and calories like rice. Here cauliflower is sliced into pieces and is put inside a food processor to get fine form.
