Many women around us get affected by an issue called PCOD / PCOS or Poly Cystic Ovarian Disorder / Syndrome. It must be noted that PCOD is a condition where there are multiple cysts present in the ovaries of a woman. By this condition, a woman would have hormonal imbalance inside her. There are few symptoms observed in women having this PCOD issue and these are irregular periods, abnormal hair growth in different parts of the body, weight gain, acne etc. By making some lifestyle changes and by making some changes in the diet, a woman could manage this PCOD issue effectively.

Cinnamon intake:

One of the commonly used spices in many foods is cinnamon. It has got a strong aroma and it is highly beneficial for women with PCOD issue. It is said that by consuming cinnamon positive impact is left on insulin resistance. It helps in the weight loss. Intake of cinnamon could help in the regulation of menstrual cycle.

Turmeric intake:

It is believed that turmeric could be consumed by woman having PCOD issue. The anti-inflammatory property of turmeric is superb.

Foods rich in zinc intake:

It must be noted that zinc is beneficial for reproductive system and the immune system gets boosted by zinc intake. It is good for woman to eat foods rich in zinc like eggs, beans, nuts etc as this could prevent abnormal hair growth in them.

Foods with low GI intake:

The insulin levels could be improved by consuming foods having low glycemic index or GI. It is worthy to mention that PCOD results in insulin resistance. Point to be noted is foods with low GI levels are beneficial for the blood sugar levels.

Foods rich in vitamin D and calcium intake:

For better absorption of calcium, intake of vitamin D is very important. It must be taken into account that most women having PCOD are vitamin D deficient. It is revealed that by adding more calcium and vitamin D menstrual cycle could be regulated.

Foods with healthy fats:

It is said that fats are bad for health and intake of fats could lead to weight gain. The truth is healthy fats are important for us. Foods like avocados, dark chocolates, chihia seeds etc have healthy fats in them and women with PCOD issue must eat these foods.
