Many of us are of the view that just brushing the teeth is enough for good oral health. The fact is we must take proper care of our oral health to avoid teeth based issues.
It is important that we must inculcate good oral habits right from the childhood days. Important information is tooth decay could create trouble for us till the end if we do not take proper care of our oral health.
There are few poor habits that many of us follow and these habits could result in tooth decay in us. These are
Not brushing teeth before going to bed:
For maintaining oral health for lifetime it is essential that we must brush our teeth twice a day. Many of us do not follow this due to laziness etc. People brush their teeth after getting up from the bed but do not brush before going to bed. By making it as habit to brush the teeth even at the night time, we could avoid teeth issues.
Using hard toothbrush:
Damaging tooth enamel could result in tooth decay in us. Please avoid using hard tooth brushes having hard bristles as they might damage the enamel. It is important to note that soft tooth brush could be used and we must brush our teeth in a circular motion. Point to be noted is we must change our tooth brushes once in few months.
Skipping flossing:
Many of us brush our teeth well but don’t floss. It is said that flossing is as important as brushing teeth. By flossing, it is possible to get rid of the impurities present in the small gaps. The 3 steps brushing, flossing and washing must be done without fail.
Drinking too much carbonated drinks and soda:
Carbonated drinks and sodas are frequently consumed by us many of these days. It is revealed that intake of these could harm the teeth enamel and too much intake would lead to erosion.
Smoking:
Many of us do not know that fact that smoking also causes issues for the teeth. The enamel gets damaged due to smoking. Teeth would get black stains due to regular smoking.
