Ginger belongs to the family named ‘Zingiberaceae’ and is one of the most widely used spices. This plant is seen in countries like China, India, south-east Asia, western Africa etc. Ginger root is both spicy as well as medicinal. Important point is ginger is a perennial herb and the stem grows up to a metre in height.

It is well known that intake of ginger could help in the reduction of muscle pain, soreness, issues like osteoarthritis gets treated, issues like nausea gets cured etc. It must be noted that when consumed in excess ginger could lead to many issues.

Various issues of excess intake of ginger are

Causes diarrhoea:

It is revealed that excess intake of ginger might lead to diarrhoea in us. This is due to the fact that ginger accelerates the passage of food and stools through intestines.

Issue during pregnancy:

Pregnant mothers must be careful and must avoid eating too much ginger. It must be taken into account that intake of ginger by pregnant mothers could result in miscarriage. In addition to this pregnant mothers might get acid reflux and heart burns etc.

Might lead to excessive bleeding:

Many of us would not know that ginger intake in excess might lead to severe bleeding. This is due to blood thinning properties. So, please be careful.

Excessive lowering of blood sugar level:

For the treatment of diabetes, intake of ginger is good. The shocking information is when ginger is consumed along with the diabetes medication then we might get excessive lowering of blood sugar levels or hypoglycaemia.

Irregularities in heartbeat:

Heart conditions could get aggravated by excess intake of ginger. It is important to note that persons taking medication for high BP could experience undesirable drop in BP. There might be irregularities in the heart beat. Excess ginger intake might also interfere with antihypertensive therapy.

Mouth irritation:
