Whether coronavirus may spread through vegetables and fruits? If yes, how to prevent it? How to maintain the fruits and vegetables bought in these coronavirus spread period? Here are the answers to all these questions!:
It is best to buy fruits and vegetables during the morning sessions! Keep them in a place for 6 hours – and then use them – safer this way! As a large number of people might have visited these shops during the entire day session, the vegetables remaining in the shop by evening might have been touched by several people! It is advisable not to eat raw vegetables presently!
After keeping out for some time, the bought fruits and vegetables may first be kept submerged in water for some time before transferring to the fridge. DO NOT WASH THE VEGETABLES WITH SOAP OR HANDWASH! This might make way for the soap and other chemicals to enter our body and may cause harm! Instead, like mentioned above, it is better to wash the fruits and vegetables in a steam of cold water and keep them submerged in water for some time and then taken out to be kept in the fridge. By this, 99% of the germs/bacteria in them will get cleaned out.
While touching the fruits and vegetables in the shop or while receiving the change from the shopkeeper, we must remember there is scope for inspection.
As good fresh vegetables will last at least a week when kept properly, it is better to avoid making frequent visits to the shops. Why? Because the person who visits the shops may carry and infect coronavirus among others in the house!
After visiting the shop and returning home, the person MUST immediately wash hands with soap. It is even better to take a bath! AVOID SPRAYING DISINFECTANTS OR SANITIZER ON THE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES!
To put it in brief, the prospects of coronavirus are much more when touching the items in the shop or through the shopkeeper. Cooked food is always safer to eat. At the same time, there is no harm in eating raw vegetables but only after washing them with cold water and keeping them for 6 hours!
