Who doesn’t snore? Every now and then, nearly all people snore and this snoring could be a chronic issue for some persons.
When air flows past the relaxed tissues in the throat, then we could hear a hoarse or harsh sound. The tissues would vibrate as you breathe and this is called snoring. It is important to note that snoring could disturb sleep and it could lead to few health issues in us.
There are few ways by which snoring could be avoided and these are
By consuming ginger and honey:
It is believed that honey has got anti-inflammatory as well as antibacterial properties in it and by consuming honey the throat would get soothed. By this, we would get relief from snoring. It is superb to mention here that by drinking honey tea with ginger snoring could be avoided.
By eating fruits like bananas etc:
There are few fruits namely banana, oranges, pineapples etc rich in melatonin content and this melatonin could make a person sleep well without snoring.
By sipping extra virgin olive oil:
For the sake of moisturising and smoothening airway passage and to prevent blockage caused by the throat muscles while sleeping, it is important to sip extra virgin olive oil.
Intake of soy milk:
The snoring could increase by consuming cow’s milk. The allergic reactions caused by cow’s milk might result in congestion. This would then lead to increased snoring. Instead of cow’s milk we drink soy milk.
By intake of foods like garlic, onions etc:
Congestion gets reduced by the intake of foods like onions, garlic, horseradish etc. Truth is that these foods would prevent sleep apnea and would decrease swelling in the nostrils. These foods could either be consumed as dinner or in raw form just before bed.
By being hydrated:
By being hydrated, we could have other health benefits. Not many know that by being hydrated we could avoid snoring too.
By switching up the sleeping position:
Truth is that by sleeping on the back we might snore as the airflow would get blocked due to the tongue positioned at the back of the throat. It is advised to sleep on the sides.
