Babies must be fed with healthy as well as nutritious foods and these foods would help the babies to grow and would give them good strength. Every parent must know this and must provide their babies with the right foods. From the first month till the sixth month the growth of the baby might be slow but the growth would be faster from the sixth month onwards. At that time, the baby would need more energy plus nutrients than before.

Various important nutrients that the baby would need during the first 6 to 12 months are

Nutrients rich in zinc:
The baby must be given nutrients rich in zinc because zinc would help in the process of cell growth, differentiation plus metabolism. By consuming nutrients rich in zinc, the baby would have superb immunity also.

Nutrients rich in calcium:
For strong bones and strong teeth, calcium is necessary. It is important to mention that calcium is an important mineral and our body begins storing calcium from the time we were babies till we become young adults.

Nutrients rich in vitamin D:
For absorbing calcium and phosphorus, babies require vitamin D. Truth is that lack of vitamin D could result in rickets and bones would become soft and weak.

Nutrients rich in omega-3 fatty acids:
Overall health of the babies could be maintained by omega-3 fatty acids. The omega-3 fatty acids play a huge part in the brain development, improving sleep quality, reducing symptoms of ADHD etc in the babies.

Nutrients rich in vitamin C:
For iron absorption plus strengthening the immune system and connective tissue production, vitamin C plays a great role. Hence, babies must be provided vitamin C rich nutrients.
