While passing urine is a smooth and easy process that could provide huge relief for many, for others it could create a burning sensation. The relief could become a nightmare if a burning sensation happens. Truth is that this burning sensation comes with other symptoms and these symptoms would help in finding the cause for the burning sensation.
Taking into account the amount of water and other fluids intake, he or she urinates 4 to 7 times per day. It is important to note that those who get the burning sensation could feel more urge to pass urine. It is said that issues in the excretory and reproductive system could lead to burning sensation.
Various reasons that can lead to burning sensation are
Urinary tract infections or UTI:
It must be taken into note that UTIs could lead to burning sensation and pain while passing urine. Mostly, UTI affect women is known. Truth is that 50% or more of women would have UTIs. Bacteria E. coli is responsible for 90% of UTIs.
Irritation and sensitivity:
Burning sensation while urinating could be due to irritations and sensitivity also. It is known that kidneys, urethra, urinary bladder, ureters etc forms urinary tract and anything that irritates the urinary tract would lead to burning sensation. Irritation could be due to intake of acidic foods also.
Kidney stones:
Calcium deposits could result in kidney stones in us and they could grow large to block parts of the urinary tract. This would result in burning and pain while passing urine.
Vaginitis issue:
Point is that one third of women would have vaginitis or inflammation of vagina. Vaginitis in women could be due to many reasons like use of antibiotics, intercourse, fluctuating hormone levels etc. This issue could lead to burning sensation while passing urine.
Sexually transmitted diseases or STD:
Certain STDs like syphilis, gonorrhoea etc could cause burning sensation in women. Generally many STDs do not have any symptoms. So, please take care.
Pelvic floor disorder:
Not many would know that pelvic floor disorder could also lead to burning sensation while passing urine. It must be taken into account that pelvic floor refers to the collection of muscles that support the urinary bladder, uterus and prostate etc present in the pelvic area.
Medication:
Chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer could result in burning sensation and pain while passing urine. It is saidid that any surgery done in the urinary tract or pelvic portion could lead to burning sensation.
