Here are a few dos and don’ts when it comes to a healthy diet.
- DO include whole grains in your food. These include wheat, jowar, legumes, green grams and lentils.
- DON’T skip breakfast. At least munch on a fruit or a sandwich.
- DO include a calcium based food in your food every day. A glass of skimmed milk is ideal. You can also eat ragi porridge or broccoli.
- DON’T indulge in fried foods and extra sweet foods.
- DO replace bread, pasta, roti to whole wheat bread, pasta or roti.
- DON’T indulge in excess alcohol and caffeine
- DO have small and frequent meals – carry nuts, fruits or buttermilk with you at all times.
- DON’T have late and heavy dinners.
