Normally, we doubt the food we eat when we put on or gain weight isn’t it!!
It is true that mostly food we eat would make us gain weight. There are also various other factors apart from the diet that would make us gain weight. Weight gain is not healthy and if a person doesn’t bother about his or her weight gain then it could lead to many health issues in us such as diabetes, cholesterol, BP, heart diseases etc .
Various reasons for the sudden weight gain are
Insomnia:
Many of us do not sleep well for 6 t0 8 hours and this could be due to several issues. It is revealed that this sleep deprivation could make us put on weight. When a person doesn’t sleep well then the mood of the person would get affected and due to this he or she would eat more. This would lead to weight gain.
Menopause:
Every woman would have to go through this important stage that mostly occurs in the late 40’s. Women could gain weight suddenly in this stage of their life. It must be noted that estrogen plays an important role in the menstrual cycle and in the reproductive system of a woman. A woman would experience changes in estrogen levels in her menopause and this would lead to weight gain.
Kidney issues:
When the health of the kidney is not good in the person, then there are chances of sudden weight gain. Kidneys could get damaged due to kidney failure and nephritic syndrome etc. Truth is that when a person has these issues, then he or she would put on weight. Improper kidney function could lead to fluid retention in the body. This could result in weight gain.
Thyroid issues:
Those who have thyroid issues in them might gain weight suddenly. This would be due to the thyroid unable to produce enough thyroid hormones. Hypothyroidism slows down the metabolic rate of a persona and this could lead to weight gain. Slow or sluggish thyroid gland is revealed by the weight gain.
PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome:
It is true that women with PCOS gain weight suddenly and find it difficult to get rid of the weight. This might also result in some pregnancy related complications in the women. When a woman has PCOS then her ovaries produce abnormally high levels of male sex hormones and this could make her gain weight suddenly. It is possible to manage PCOS by following a healthy lifestyle with healthy food intake.
Stress:
Stress could lead to several issues in a person and weight gain is one such issue. It is believed that a person with stress, anxiety, depression etc would gain weight. There are also possibilities of weieight loss in the person due to these above said issues. Stressed persons would eat more processed foods, junk foods, sweets etc and the person might not do any physical activity also. This would make the person put on weight easily.
