If you are counting your fallen hair stands these days after combing your hair, then you are not alone!!
Everybody would love to have thick black hairs on their heads. Losing up to 100 hairs every day is normal and more than that is hair loss. The bitter truth is that there are many (both males and females) who suffer from hair loss issues and find their lives difficult due to constant bullying from others etc. Hair loss is known medically as alopecia.
Hair loss could be due to a number of reasons like heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions etc. It is necessary to treat hair loss in the beginning stage itself to avoid total loss of hairs. Not many of us would be aware of the fact that vitamin deficiencies in us can also be the reason for the hair loss issue in us.
How vitamin deficiencies could lead to hair loss in us?
Vitamin D:
Lack of enough vitamin D can lead to hair thinning and hair loss in us. It must be taken into account that vitamin D would help in the stimulation of hair follicles. When there is a lack of this vitamin, we could get inactive hair follicles and the hair growth process would be hindered.
Vitamin B7 or biotin:
For healthy hair growth, vitamin B7 is very much needed. This vitamin would help in the production of keratin, a protein component of hair. The hair strands would get weakened due to poor biotin levels in it.
Vitamin B 12:
Point to be noted here is vitamin B12 would play a huge role in the formation of red blood cells that carry oxygen to the hair follicles. There would be reduced supply of oxygen in the scalp due to this vitamin deficiency and this would lead to hair loss.
VitamIn C:
The structural support to the hairs is provided by collagen and vitamin C would help in the formation of collagen. It is worthy to note that lack or insufficient vitamin C could lead to hair loss.
Vitamin E:
The blood flow to the hair follicles would get reduced due to lack of this important vitamin E. As a result, the function of vitamin E would get impacted and this would then result in hair loss.
Various tips to prevent hair loss due to vitamin deficiencies:
- -By intake of fruits, vegetables , whole grains,s, lean fats etc (having many important nutrients) for adequate vitamin intake.
- -By adding foods rich in vitamins like A. B. C D and E etc and examples are carrots, spinach, citrus fruits etc.
- -By minimising the use of hair dryers, hair straighteners etc as these would weaken the hair strands on the head.
- -By avoiding hair brushing or combing roughly especially when the hair is wet.
- -By wearing a cap or hat or any other protective gear while going out in the sun
- -By managing stress as stress is a prime cause for hair loss in both males and females.
