Who would not be happy to receive more marks?
After revaluation of the answer scripts, the plus 2 students have become happier now in Tamil Nadu. The reason for this is the students have now got more marks after revaluation of their answer scripts. Out of a total of 3600 students who have applied for revaluation, more than 2000 have got more marks.
It is worthy to note that many students have sought the revaluation of their mathematics and physics answer scripts. There are also many students who have sought revaluation of their language papers too to boost their score.
On Tuesday, 18th June 2024, DGE released a list of students whose marks have been changed after revaluation on its web portal www.dge.tn.gov.in. Information is that 2100 students out of a total of 3600 students had a change in their marks.
As per an official from the directorate it was clear that there was a change of just one or two marks for some students. For re-totalling, 1700 students have applied in this year and 150 students had their marks revised.
It is learnt that those students who did not get full marks in commerce and chemistry and those who failed in one subject have applied for revaluation.
According to some subject experts, the number of requests for revaluation in mathematics answer scripts was high in 2024. He added that one or two student marks were revised by up to 8 marks. He concluded that some students have lost one or two marks also. It is noteworthy that during the revaluation process a team of teachers would be evaluating the entire answer scripts of the students and give marks.
Mr. M. Sathish Kumar, principal of Vana Vani Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai spoke about how a student got 2 marks extra in language paper. He added that there was no major change in the marks. He concluded that the evaluation of the answer sheets was good this year.
It is now brought out that the details of the revised marks would be shared with the TNEA directly by DGE.
