To be healthy in the winter season, we must try to avoid these foods

The winter season has come now. It is the time when microbes get the best environment to survive and reproduce. It is also the time when our body’s immune response gets lowered by low temperatures. When compared to any time of the year, most of us fall sick in the winter season only.

Hence it is very important to take care of our health in the winter season. There are few foods that we must not consume in the winter season for our health to be good.

Foods that must be avoided are

Avoid sugary foods:

It is well known that foods like cake, sweetened cereals, beverages like fruit juice etc contain high amounts of sugars. By eating these sugar-based foods in winter, we might feel happy but the fact is these foods lead to inflammation and reduces our immunity.

Avoid eating pasta:

Delicious to taste, pasta are liked by many. It is revealed that the intake of pastas like macaroni etc in winter could increase mucus production. This might result in congestion and discomfort.

Say no to fried foods:

Being high in fat content, intake of fried foods in winter season might make us ill. The important point is high-fat content would not only result in inflammation but also it would increase mucus production.

Do not eat histamine rich foods:

For the purpose of fighting unwanted substances like allergens etc, histamine is produced by the immune system. It is said that foods that are rich in histamine like eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, dried fruits etc could increase mucus production leading to issues when we have issues like blocked nose or congested chest.  

Avoid dairy products:

It is better if we avoid the intake of dairy products in the winter season. It must be taken into account that dairy products might increase the thickness of mucus and this might worsen illnesses by increasing congestion.

Don’t drink caffeinated drinks:

The point is drinks like coffee, energy drinks, sports drinks etc have caffeine in them. It is known that caffeine is a diuretic or compound that results in the urine. Dehydration takes place and dryness in the throat increases. Congestion and breathing issues occur.
