INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MEDICINAL PLANTS.

Botany department of Pachiyappa’s college organized an International Conference on Medicinal Plants and Herbal Drugs. The conference aims to explore the challenges and opportunities in their conservation. Prof S Madhavan from University of Nebraska, Lincoln, USA was the Chief Guest. About 300 students from all over India and from Countries like USA, Taiwan Participated.

ASSEMBLY INAUGURATION WITH FAKE DOME

Kalaignar Karunanidhi is at it again. His Passion of Art continues. New Assembly complex will inaugurated by the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on 13th March. The Dome that a dorns seven story complex will not be ready as safety clearance is still pending. Its setting will be there; built at a cost of Rs 2 Crores, of course, on the exchequer.

POWER CUT LIKELY SOON

Tamilnadu Electricity Board planning hike the tariff by 10 to 12 percent for domestic consumers and 5 percent for Industrial Consumers. The TNEB has submitted petition to that effect to the Tamilnadu Electricity Regulatory Commission. The petition submitted on 18th January has admitted by the commission.
