ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

Tamilnadu Electricity board has decided to increase power tariff for domestic users, which need to be cleared by the Tamilnadu Electricity Regulatory Commission. The TNERC has scheduled meetings with the public to get the views of people in Chennai on March 30th, in Madurai on April 8th, In Coimbatore on April 13th in Trichy on April 15th.

TEN SAPLINGS FOR EVERY ONE TREE FELLED.

The Tamilnadu Infrastructure Development Corporation has informed that it would plant 10 sapling for every one tree felled. Trees have been felled to widen the roads. There was petition in High court against felling of trees. TNIDC filed counter affidavit saying that the corporation had earmarked Rs 25 lakhs and Rs 27 lakhs respectively

POWER CUT LIKELY SOON

Tamilnadu Electricity Board planning hike the tariff by 10 to 12 percent for domestic consumers and 5 percent for Industrial Consumers. The TNEB has submitted petition to that effect to the Tamilnadu Electricity Regulatory Commission. The petition submitted on 18th January has admitted by the commission.
