Power Cut Schedule In Chennai
Power supply will be suspended in the following areas from 09.00 am to 02.00 pm for maintenance work. Supply will be resumed before 02.00 P.M if the works are completed.
Power generation reduced in Vallur & North Madras thermal power stations
Since the thermal power station generation units at Vallur and North Madras were shut down due to some faults, the entire state of Tamil Nadu experienced a power cut for an extra period of 2 to 3 hours.

Vallur Thermal Power Station – Power Generation Down
A 1000 MW power plant has been installed at Vallur near Ponneri in Thiruvallur district by NTPC & TANGEDCO. The 2nd unit of 500 MW was shut down due to some technical problems.

1680 MW shortage of Power in Tamil Nadu due to outage of 5 Power Stations – Stpes taken to ensure smooth Parliamentary Elections
4 units from Mettur & North Chennai and 1 unit from Neiveli are down and there is a shortfall of 1680 MW of power.

New Power Cut schedule for Chennai from March 1, 2014
The Tamilnadu Electricity Board has changed the Power Cut schedule of Chennai City from March 1st ( Saturday ), 2014.
