The low pressure area formed in Bay of Bengal continues to move in westerly direction. This system has already given moderate to heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the initial days of its formation.

Amid the last 24 hours, mainly light rains were seen over few districts of Tamil Nadu with a couple of moderate spells.

As reiterated by Skymet Weather, only light rain and thundershower was witnessed over the city of Chennai in the past 24 hours.

As expected, Rains starts in South TN (Kanyakumari, Nellai, Thoothukudi and parts of Virudhunagar too).

Chennai to get on and off rains in small spells with sharp ones at time. This will be the pattern for next 3 days. Delta is getting rains too.

The last two Low pressure area gave rains to North TN coast and its the turn of south TN to get some rains during the NEM from this third Low pressure of the season.

Northeast Monsoon lashed the state of Tamil Nadu with hefty showers during the initial days of November. Fortunately this time Sri Lanka will bear the brunt of this low-pressure area and most parts of Tamil Nadu.
