Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that there will be rains today in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to convection. As far as Chennai is concerned the sky will be cloudy. There will be rains in some part of the city.

Prospects of rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
As the cyclonic format in the upper layer of the atmosphere over the Lakhdiv Islands remains, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Again storms are forming over 13 N, Parts of Chennai may get moderate rains.
The wind pattern is erratic however storms have managed to reached Avadi / Redhills belt.

Chennai Rain Update - Intense storms moving towards Chennai
As expected in the morning, intense storms cells have formed. It has got intense even without even without interacting with SBF.The rains will be of high intensity when it starts and my last for 30-60 mins. Avadi and Ambattur.
