Heavy rains have subsided in Tamil Nadu and relief works are going on. At this juncture the Chennai Metrological Centre has warned that there will rains.

Director of Chennai Meteorological Centre, Mr. Ramanan, informed that due to the convection formed in the upper layers of atmosphere over Tamil Nadu, there will be wide-spread rains in Tamil Nadu.

The Indian Air Force helicopters immediately responded to the task of carrying out rescue and relief operations after incessant rains that affected Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Heavy rains have given rise to hardships to people across Chennai. The entire city is drowned in water and seen floating in water mixed with sewage with inflow of excess water from lakes.

Commuting on 100 feet road near MMDA colony has been a nightmare. With ankle deep water in some places, and much deeper water in others, traffic moves slowly. Vehicles are forced to ply in the middle of the road as the sides are completely inundated.

During this North East Monsoon, Chennai has received more rainfall than usual. It has received 82 percentage of rains.
