Prime Minister Modi to Visit Chennai on June 20 to Launch Key Railway Projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Chennai on Thursday, June 20, to inaugurate several significant railway projects and participate in various programs in the city. According to sources from Southern Railway, the Prime Minister will arrive on Thursday afternoon.
During a public event at the Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Chennai Central railway station, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the Chennai-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a new Vande Bharat train set maintenance depot near Basin Bridge Railway Junction.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate several completed railway line doubling projects, including the Aralvaymozhi-Nagercoil line, Melappalayam-Tirunelveli line, and the Nagercoil Town-Nagercoil Junction-Kanyakumari line.
In a simultaneous video conference from Chennai, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the new Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, marking another milestone in the expansion of India`s high-speed rail network.
