An increase in DA for govt employees

The Dearness Allowance for the Tamil Nadu state government workers has been increased from 5% to 7%.
Recently, the central government had announced an increase in the DA (Dearness Allowance) of the monthly salary by 2%.
Subsequently, the TN state government employees also have been accorded this 2% increase in the DA.
The official government order for this was released yesterday (Thursday, 12th April).
Accordingly, the present 5% DA will be increased to 7% with effect from 1st January. So, arrear payment for this will be paid.
The state government of Tamil Nadu has announced that this increase will be applicable to all the pensioners and family pensioners.
