Now second train transports water from Jolarpet to Chennai

Just recently, first train transported water from Jolarpet in Vellore district to Chennai and caught the attention of many. The latest piece of news is second train with 50 wagons started transporting water from Jolarpet to Chennai on Tuesday, 23rd July 2019.
It was mentioned by the release from the CMWSSB or Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board that Chennai would receive 5.5 mld by 2 trains every day. It must be taken into account that daily 2.75 million litres of water is being transported in a 50 wagon train from Jolarpet to Villivakkam yard since 12th July. This water is being distributed in the Chennai city is known. Railways arranged for second train with 50 wagons to transport water on Tuesday.
Point is CMWSSB has requested southern railways for 2 more trains with 50 wagons each. It is now said that once this materialises then the amount of water transported from Jolarpet to Chennai would be increased in a phased manner.
The inspection of works to connect pipelines from the train wagons at the Villivakkam yard was carried out by Mr. Prabhushankar, executive director of CMWSSB. It must be noted that Mr. Prabhushankar advised the employees to expedite the work and make sure that the water is supplied to the residents immediately.
