Residents in parts of Chennai are set to face a disruption in piped water supply due to interconnection work by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL). The interruption will last from 6 AM on November 20 to 6 AM on November 21, according to a press release from the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB).
Affected Areas:
The disruption will impact several localities, including:
- T. Nagar
- Nandanam
- Chetpet
- Gopalapuram
- Alwarpet
This includes certain parts of the Teynampet, Kodambakkam, and Adyar zones.
Reason for Disruption:
The interconnection work will take place at Chamiers Road and Uthamar Gandhi Salai in Nungambakkam, necessitating a temporary shutdown of water distribution points at Valluvar Kottam, south Chennai, and Kilpauk.
Advisory for Residents:
Residents in the affected areas are advised to:
- Store water in advance for their needs.
- Book water tankers online for emergency requirements.
