Over 6.85 Lakh Applications Received During Tamil Nadu Electoral Roll Special Camps
The Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu, Archana Patnaik, announced that 6,85,513 applications were received during the special camps conducted for the Special Summary Revision of the Electoral Roll 2025.
According to a press release, the camps were held on November 16 and 17 across all 234 assembly constituencies in the state, following the instructions of the Election Commission of India. The qualifying date for the revision is January 1, 2025.
Breakdown of Applications:
- Day 1 (November 16): 2,64,034 applications were submitted.
- Day 2 (November 17): 4,21,479 applications were submitted.
The applications included requests for name addition, deletion, correction, transfer, and Aadhaar linking.
