We all know that high sugar intake frequently could lead to diabetes in us. How many of us are aware that high sugar intake frequently can lead to heart issues?

Processed foods and sugary beverages have high sugar content in them and consuming these could result in heart problems in us. We can also get increased levels of triglycerides and low levels of good cholesterol. There are possibilities of obesity, insulin resistance and inflammation etc also.

How intake of less sugar would boost our heart health?

Lowers risk of obesity:

It must be noted that by consuming less amounts of sugars we would avoid weight gain and it would help in weight loss around the stomach part. Truth is excess abdominal fat would lead to heart diseases etc. Being obese, would put extra pressure on our heart and this could lead to high BP, high cholesterol etc. Point is that by reducing sugars we could maintain the heart in a healthy manner and this would put less strain on our heart.

Improves cholesterol levels:

Both high triglycerides and high cholesterol are risk factors of heart disease and excess intake of sugars would increase triglycerides and cholesterol levels. Truth is that by cutting down the sugar intake, we would be able to maintain cholesterol levels plus increase good cholesterol in us leading to superb heart health.

Lowers blood pressure:

By consuming sugars rich in fructose, our BP would increase and this would lead to heart based issues and strokes etc in us. When we reduce sugar intake, our BP would get lowered and this would improve our heart health.

Lowers inflammation:

It is believed that excess intake of sugars would trigger the release of inflammatory markers in our body. This would damage the blood vessels over time.  Point to be noted is that lowering sugar intake would reduce these inflammatory processes. Our hearts would be protected.

Improves insulin sensitivity:

There are possibilities of increased insulin resistance by intake of excess sugars. This is associated with metabolic syndrome and heart diseases. When we consume less sugar, then our body cells would become less sensitive to insulin and this would lower the chances of developing type 2 diabetes. Overall heart health would become better.

Decreaseded triglyceride levels:

Elevated levels of triglycerides would lead to heart issues in us. Low intake of sugars would lower triglycerides levels and by this we would have less chances of getting heart issues.

Promotes healthy blood vessels:

The endothelial cells present in the blood vessels would get damaged if we consume excess sugars. This can result in reduced blood flow and atherosclerosis. When we consume a low amount of sugars, then flexibility of blood vessels would be preserved. There would be better blood circulation and better heart health.

Promotes healthier blood sugar levels:

By excess intake of sugars, there would be sudden spikes and crashes in our blood glucose levels. This can put a lot of strain on our heart leading to diabetes and heart issues etc. Reduced sugar consumption would lead to healthier blood sugar levels and reduced risk of heart complications.
