Scores of Chennai Metro Rail passengers faced inconvenience on Tuesday morning (December 17) due to a technical glitch in the online ticketing system. Commuters were forced to queue at station counters as Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) worked to resolve the issue.
The disruption was attributed to "temporary issues in the online ticket booking server," according to CMRL. Passengers were advised to purchase tickets directly from counters while rectification efforts were underway.
In a swift response, the issue was resolved, and normalcy was restored shortly after. Announcing the restoration, CMRL confirmed that all ticketing modes, including the Singara Chennai Card, CMRL Travel Cards, and Mobile QR services, are now functioning as usual.
Commuters expressed relief at the quick resolution, ensuring seamless travel across the Metro network.
