As of this morning, rains have returned to the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, with showers expected to intensify from Chennai down to the Delta region, and extending further south to Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari by Friday.
A broad low-pressure area has developed over the Bay of Bengal, bringing an active rainfall period to regions such as Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Pondicherry, Cuddalore, and Karaikal. Over the next two days, these areas will experience steady showers, with potential for heavy rain in some pockets. Starting Friday, the rainfall activity will shift southward, impacting the Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi coastal areas.
Residents in these regions are advised to carry umbrellas and raincoats, as moderate to heavy rains are expected, especially in Chennai and surrounding areas. Coastal districts should prepare for continued wet weather, with caution advised for travel and outdoor activities.
