For thick, long and black coloured, we must consume not only foods rich in zinc, biotin etc but also foods that are rich in copper. Sound`s incredible isn`t it!!

Our black hairs play a crucial role in our self confidence but having black hairs on the heads would not be possible always.  As we age or grow older, our hair turns grey or white coloured. Though, it might be difficult to accept for us but it is a fact.

These days, even at a young age, many have grey hairs on their heads and find it difficult. These youngsters face harassment from many others for having an old kind of look at young age itself. This could make them depressed also. Copper deficiency could be the reason for this premature greying.

It is known to us that our hormone melanin is responsible for our black coloured hairs and copper plays a role in melanin production. Deficiency of copper could lead to less melanin production and due to this our hairs would become grey.

Various foods that are rich in copper and would help us to avoid copper deficiency are

Leafy greens intake:

Copper levels in us would get increased and our hairs would not turn grey prematurely if we eat leafy green lie kale, spinach etc. The leafy greens would also help in our skin health plus vision health. Our immune system would get better.

Nuts and seeds intake:

Our daily copper intake would be met when we eat nuts like cashew and seeds like sunflower seeds. By this, we would not get premature grey hairs. Other health benefits that we can get by intake of nuts and seeds are reduced chances of diabetes, reduced inflammation, lowered cholesterol, lower chances of heart diseases etc.

Whole grains intake:

Whole grains like quinoa and barley would be superb for hair health. It must be noted that both barley and quinoa are rich in copper.

Lentils and chickpeas intake:

Our copper levels would get improved by eating lentils and chickpeas etc daily. This would prevent the hairs from turning grey coloured prematurely.
