Heavy Fog Disrupts Train and Road Traffic in Chennai
Heavy fog in Chennai and its surrounding areas has caused significant delays in train and road traffic, according to a Daily Thanthi report. On Tuesday, express trains like the Cheran Express and Pearl City Express were delayed by 20 minutes, while EMU services were halted at various locations, leading to further disruptions.
The foggy conditions, coupled with intensifying cold weather, have particularly affected areas like Egmore, Broadway, Koyambedu, and Nungambakkam during early mornings. Major roads, including Anna Salai, Poonamallee High Road, and Kamarajar Salai, have also experienced severe fog, reducing visibility and causing difficulties for motorists.
The ongoing fog has led to slower vehicle movement and increased challenges for commuters navigating the city. Authorities are advising caution while traveling until visibility improves.
