Chennai Metrowater has announced a temporary disruption in piped water supply in parts of the Manali zone due to essential pipeline interconnection work at Kamarajar Salai. The water supply will be suspended for 12 hours from 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Affected Areas
Residents in the following areas will experience a water supply disruption:
- Manali
- Sadayankuppam
- Idayanchavadi
- Kadapakkam
Reason for Disruption
As part of the Manali Water Distribution Scheme, Chennai Metrowater will connect the distribution line at Kamarajar Salai junction with the existing pipeline from the Manali overhead tank. Due to this work, water supply from Dwaraka Nagar and Manali New Town distribution points will be halted.
Advisory for Residents
Residents in the affected areas are advised to:
- Store adequate water in advance.
- Arrange for mobile water supply if needed.
- Contact Chennai Metrowater at 044-45674567 for tanker water supply in case of emergencies.
