Lufthansa Flights Between Chennai and Frankfurt Cancelled Due to Strike

Two Lufthansa flights Frankfurt to Chennai and Chennai to Frankfurt were cancelled early today due to an airline staff strike in Germany demanding higher wages and reduced workload. The daily Lufthansa flight, which arrives in Chennai at 12:00 am and departs at 1:50 am, is a key route for travelers to Germany, the US, France, the UK, Scotland, and the Netherlands.
Over 300 passengers were stranded at Chennai airport, though the airline assured that the cancellation was for one day only. While most passengers were informed in advance, those unaware were provided alternative accommodation by airport authorities.
