The price of 22-carat gold jewelry in Chennai saw a significant surge today, rising by ₹840 per sovereign, bringing the price to ₹66,720 per sovereign and ₹8,340 per gram.
At the start of the week, on Monday (March 24), gold prices had dropped by ₹120 per sovereign, selling at ₹65,720. The decline continued on Tuesday (March 25), with a further drop of ₹240 per sovereign, bringing the price to ₹65,480. However, the trend reversed on March 26, as prices increased by ₹80 per sovereign to ₹65,560. On March 27, gold prices saw a further rise of ₹320 per sovereign, reaching ₹65,880.
Today’s steep increase of ₹840 per sovereign has taken the price to an all-time high of ₹66,720 per sovereign, leaving jewelers and buyers in shock. The price of gold has seen a sharp rise, reflecting fluctuations in the global market.
