Posted on: 09/Jul/2020 5:16:52 PM
Needs of human beings vary in every stage of life. While the needs of childhood are satisfied by the caretakers, but the desires of the senior citizens become the responsibility of the caregivers that they need to split and achieve holistic care.

With aging, special need towards them becomes more inevitable that introduce concepts like choosing comfort over the longevity of life to decide elderly parent’s care. Aging is often misunderstood with the disease but well thought out interventions can make a difference and that shall improve personality and quality.

Elderly people prefer to have an independent life. Caretakers rather than proving them helping them bu feeding can provide compromising functionality to enable them to work.  This will enable them for better confidence.

Caregivers should focus on improving the current way of life and minimizing discomfort like cataract surgeries are known to improve overall well-being since better vision will help maintain social connect, reduce the risk of falls otherwise would be inappropriate for elders.

The presence of multiple medical conditions, deterioration in functionality, or the presence of other disabilities is more likely the rule than an exception. Dementia, depression, and delirium are also some of the most commonly diagnosed conditions. The responsibility of the caregivers is to understand and providing suitable interventions designed specifically for them but instead bringing about a huge difference to their everyday life.
