Southern Railway Announces Temporary Changes in Coach Composition for Express Trains
Southern Railway has announced temporary revisions in the composition of coaches for several express trains to meet passenger demand. The changes will be effective for specific durations as outlined below:
Train No. 22697/22698: Hubballi – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Express
- From Hubballi: December 28 to January 18
- From Dr. MGR Chennai Central: December 29 to January 19
- Change: One general second class coach will replace one sleeper class coach.
Train No. 17311/17312: Hubballi – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Express
- From Hubballi: December 26 to January 16
- From Dr. MGR Chennai Central: December 27 to January 17
- Change: One general second class coach will replace one sleeper class coach.
Revised Coach Composition:
- 1 AC first class cum AC two-tier coach
- 2 AC two-tier coaches
- 3 AC three-tier coaches
- 2 AC three-tier economy coaches
- 5 sleeper class coaches
- 4 general second class coaches
- 2 luggage cum brake vans
Train No. 16527/16528: Yesvantpur – Kannur Junction Express
- From Yesvantpur: December 29 to January 23
- From Kannur: December 30 to January 24
- Change: Two general second class coaches will replace one sleeper class coach.
Revised Coach Composition:
- 1 AC two-tier coach
- 5 AC three-tier coaches
- 10 sleeper class coaches
- 4 general second class coaches
- 1 second class cum luggage coach (disabled-friendly)
- 1 generator cum brake van
Southern Railway stated that these adjustments aim to better accommodate passengers during the specified period. Passengers are advised to check the revised coach arrangements before travel.
